PROVIDENCE – Ed Cooley certainly could have found any easier way to baptize his youthful Providence College basketball team but he’s not complaining. Not yet, anyways.
The Friars’ coach says he wanted a stern test for his team in its one exhibition game and they’re expected to get one Saturday when the Carleton Ravens of Ottawa, Canada come to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The juggernaut of Canadian university basketball, Carleton is coming off a fifth consecutive national championship and 11th in 13 years. They own an explosive offensive style and carry a 12-0 record into the game.
