Providence falls to 23rd in AP college basketball poll

PROVIDENCE - Despite a 1-1 week, the Providence Friars remain in the national college basketball polls.

PC fell from 20th to 23rd in the Associated Press poll and dropped from No. 17 to 20th in the coaches poll.

The Friars are now 19-7 and 7-6 in the Big East heading to a major league test Wednesday at Xavier, which is No. 8 in this week's AP poll. The Friars have lost four of their last six games but were happy to survive a second half charge and hold off Georgetown last Saturday at home, 75-72.
