Providence 77, Marquette 75: Friars finish to claim biggest road win of the season

MILWAUKEE — This time, Providence closed the deal on Marquette.

This time, as Markus Howard charged up the court with a chance to pull out another Marquette miracle, Kyron Cartwright knocked the ball away, and the Friars staved off another furious late rally by the Golden Eagles. Providence put the finishing touches on a satisfying and critical 77-75 road win at the Bradley Center Saturday.

We’ll roll out the ball and let these two teams run it back in perpetuity, because it always comes down to the final minute. This is the seventh time in the last nine meetings between the Friars and Golden Eagles that the game was decided by five or less.
