PROVIDENCE --- Saturday brought with it the latest example of the defensive prowess that has carried Providence College to its impressive nonconference start to the 2016-17 season.
The Friars put the clamps on Wagner early in the first half and never let go, as its top-10 national unit appeared in its usual fine working order. The result was a 76-54 blowout of the Seahawks in front of a satisfied crowd that braved a morning blast from Mother Nature.
Providence put this one to bed with a head-spinning 31-0 run in the first half, one that lasted for almost 13 minutes.
