Providence 62, Stony Brook 60: Late Bullock free throws allow Friars to survive

PROVIDENCE --- It might not have been the expected journey to the end result, but it’s safe to say Providence College will take it.

The Friars were stuck in cement shoes for long stretches of their Sunday matinee with Stony Brook at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, but the Seawolves couldn’t manage to finish off their upset bid down the stretch.

Rodney Bullock’s pair of free throws with 0.6 seconds left snapped the fourth tie of the day, giving Providence a 62-60 win.

Bullock was fouled on an offensive rebound with time ticking down, going up after Isaiah Jackson missed a layup that would have snapped the 60-60 deadlock.
