PROVIDENCE — Greg Printz scored 2:11 into overtime to give Providence a 2-1 victory over Northeastern on Saturday night in front of 3,033 fans at Schneider Arena.
Printz flipped a loose puck past Northeastern goalie Cayden Primeau for the game-winner with Jason O’Neill and Vincent Desharnais earning the assists.
All the scoring in regulation took place in the second period with Northeastern (15-7-4, 11-5-2 Hockey East) striking first. Matt Filipe beat PC goalie Hayden Hawkey on a breakaway just 1:43 into the second period to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Providence (17-8-3, 10-5-3) tied it at 8:05 of the period on Kasper Bjorkqvist’s 11th goal of the season.
