Tony Bennett has developed a defensive monster and an ACC power in a relatively short time in Charlottesville. No ACC team has won more conference games than the Cavaliers over the past four seasons (56) and in that time they’ve landed a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament twice. They’ve won 20 or more games five straight seasons and have gone 89-19 the past three.
If not for a blown 16 point lead against Syracuse in last year’s regional finals, Bennett would have a Final Four appearance under his belt — that seems like only a matter of time.
