PROVIDENCE – Six games into this season of great expectations, the Providence College Friars are digging themselves an early, ugly hole in a start to a year that’s been nothing but a dud.
Thus far the Friars have four wins over low-Division One teams and now two losses against the only strong teams they’ve faced. The latest defeat was a stunner, a bitter 81-75 pill to the Pennsylvania Quakers Saturday before a puzzled crowd of 10,649 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
PC (4-2) now heads to Anaheim for next week’s Wooden Legacy in search of an identity, and a first win over a mid or high-major team.
