Hiring Theresa Feaster as his new coordinator of men's hockey operations was a no-brainer for Providence College coach Nate Leaman.
“It’s about getting the job done,’’ he says.
With that in mind, Leaman was certain that Feaster -- who has been with the team for the last four seasons, first as a student volunteer and for the last two years as a graduate assistant -- was the ideal person for the job.
Feaster, 24, is a rarity. There are no women coaching in NCAA Division I men’s hockey, which comprises 60 teams. The Friars now are one of only two schools with a woman in charge of hockey ops.
