PROVIDENCE - Providence College junior Nate Watson was named to the 20-player Watch List for the 202 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award by the Naismith Hall of Fame.
Named after the Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion at UCLA, the annual honor in its sixth year recognizing the top center in men’s college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Watson is currently nursing a knee injury that will keep him out of action for the first few games of the season. He has yet to participate since practice opened in early October but could be back on the floor within a month.
