PC’s Kyron Cartwright wins Big East Most Improved award

PROVIDENCE - Providence College junior point guard Kyron Cartwright was named the Big East's Most Improved Player on Monday.

It marks the second year in a row and fourth time in the history of the league that a Providence player has earned the honor. Cartwright was also named second team All-Big East on Sunday.

Cartwright joins Ben Bentil (2016), Kadeem Batts (2013) and Herbert Hill (2007) as Friars that have earned Most Improved honors.

Last season, Cartwright was the team's backup point guard for All-American Kris Dunn. In 2016, Cartwright averaged 5.
