Giving up his final season of NCAA eligibility, Providence College junior defenseman Jake Walman signed a three-year contract with the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
Walman, 21, will finish the season with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
Drafted in the third round, 82st overall, by the Blues in 2014, Walman was selected as a first-team Hockey East all star the last two seasons.
A member of PC's national championship team as a freshman in 2015, he likely would have signed with the Blues a year ago if not for a shoulder injury in January 2016 that required surgery last March.
