Ed Cooley knows all about the hornet’s nest atmosphere he’ll be leading his Providence College basketball team into Saturday at the Ryan Center. He says he’d like to see more URI foes playing under the same conditions.
Before a practice Thursday at PC, Cooley was asked about the atmosphere in Kingston when he takes his team to play the URI Rams. Cooley is 3-0 in the building but along the way he’s been screamed at from the moment he steps on the court to the final buzzer. His players say hand signals are the only reliable method of communicating in the din of the building.
