PROVIDENCE – As his team gave up an 11-point first half lead and dug itself a sizeable hole on the road at DePaul Friday night, Ed Cooley did his best not to panic.
Concern, sure. Panic, no.
Stressing to his team to trust the game plan and keep playing, the Friars eventually regrouped. After a long cold offensive streak led to a 46-34 hole early in the second half, the Friars finally responded. Sparked by a resurgent Alpha Diallo, the Friars ripped off a dominant 22-0 streak to stun the Blue Demons and set up what would end as a satisfying 71-64 victory.
