SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Mike Powell started at point guard and played all 40 minutes. Ryan Brooks started at forward and played four. Jordan Hare was the leading scorer with 14 points, a highlight in his only full season with the University of Rhode Island program.
That was Dan Hurley’s first experience with the URI-Providence College rivalry.
The Rams were run out of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center that December 2012 night while playing a game — and, really, the rest of the season — with one hand tied behind their backs. Three transfers watched the game in street clothes.
