PC to host Big East lacrosse championships next spring

Providence College will host the 2017 Big East Men's Lacrosse Championship, according to an announcement made by the league on Monday.

The championship is scheduled for May 4-6 and will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to host the Big East Men’s Lacrosse Championship in 2017,” PC athletics director Bob Driscoll said. “Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium is an incredible facility, which has already hosted a number of high profile events during Big East and NCAA Championship play. We are looking forward to showcasing our facility and hosting a top-notch event in May, in addition to welcoming the participating teams and lacrosse fans to Friartown and the City of Providence.
