PROVIDENCE – Providence College and men’s basketball coach Ed Cooley have reached an agreement on a contract extension that both sides say could last as long as he plans on coaching.
PC President Rev. Brian J. Shanley and athletic director Bob Driscoll are saying Cooley signed a `long-term extension,’ but specify no set years. In a statement issued by PC, Driscoll says “we feel this contract extension is an important part of the process in continuing to build our basketball program. Ed has done so much for the College and for the athletics department.
