OMAHA, Neb. — The basketball education of David Duke continues.
Duke is on target to become the rare freshman to start every game for the Friars and his exposure to the highest leveraged challenges have yielded positive and negative results. Duke’s statistical performance is very comparable to Kris Dunn’s initial college season back in 2013, a year that ended with the Friars playing in the National Invitation Tournament.
“He’s growing. We have him on the ball, off the ball, we threw a lot at him this season,” coach Ed Cooley said of Duke, who started his 30th game of the season against Creighton.
