PROVIDENCE — It was far from a full cleansing but the Providence College Friars were very happy to return to the winning column on Saturday night at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
The Friars pushed Stony Brook against the ropes several times but could never shake the pesky, aggressive Seawolves on the way to an 82-78 victory. The win moves PC to 6-5 in its first game since losing to Rhode Island eight days ago and flipping the page to the second half of the season.
David Duke and Luwane Pipkins made all the big offensive plays down the stretch and led the Friars with 21 points apiece.
