PC hockey returns to NCAAs, will play Minn. State at The Dunk

PROVIDENCE — For the third time in the last five seasons, Providence College will play in its own backyard in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

When the matchups were announced on Sunday evening, the fourth-seeded Friars (22-11-6) of Hockey East learned that that they will face top-seed Minnesota State (32-7-2) of the WCHA at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

In the second game at The Dunk on Saturday, second-seeded Northeastern of Hockey East will play third-seeded Cornell of the ECAC at 4:30 p.m. The winners will face off on Sunday at 4 p.
