The Providence Friars will take their first-ever trip to Columbus, Oh., next November and face the Ohio State Buckeyes as part of the second annual Gavitt Games, the Big East and Big Ten announced Tuesday.
The PC-Ohio State game on Nov. 17 is one of eight contests in the series which matches Big East vs. Big Ten teams. Eight of the 16 teams scheduled in this year’s event advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season: national champion Villanova, Providence, Butler, Seton Hall, Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin and Iowa.
