PROVIDENCE – It’s five and counting for the Providence Friars.
PC secured its fifth straight NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday. The Friars are the 10 seed in the West and will play Texas A&M on Friday in Charlotte. The winner is likely to face North Carolina.
The Friars last played in the NCAA’s in Charlotte in 1997 when they recorded one of their greatest victories. After beating Marquette, the 10th seeded Friars shocked second seed Duke, 98-87. That win catapulted PC into the next week where the ride didn’t end until an overtime loss to Arizona in the Elite Eight.
