PROVIDENCE – The NFL season is only three weeks old and the NBA has yet to open its locker rooms but there was Ed Cooley Thursday afternoon barking at his Providence College Friars.
College basketball used to open practice around Oct. 15 but those days are long gone. With the start of the regular season continuing to creep backwards into early November, schools are allowed to get bouncing early and the Friars are officially up and running.
“I don’t make the rules. I adapt to the rules,” Cooley said. “It seems early but we’re excited to get going.
