PC at Seton Hall: Value of road win obvious to Friars

When last we saw Providence College just over a week ago, the Friars met the fate of so many others against Villanova, the No. 1 team in the nation and the Big East’s unquestioned bully over the last five seasons. The Wildcats overcame an early deficit and coasted to an 89-69 win, raising their conference record since 2013-14 to a lofty 69-12.

What did it mean for Providence? In the grand scheme of things, not much. The Friars saw their four-game winning streak snapped, but they remain right on track for a fifth straight NCAA Tournament berth. How they perform against the league’s middle class and away from home will ultimately decide Providence’s March fate.
