PC at Butler: Despite dreary season for Friars, Watson has sparkled

There is a big, broad-shouldered, exciting bright light in Providence College’s somewhat dim basketball universe these days.

When the Friars enter historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Tuesday night for a Big East contest against Butler, the Bulldogs will have a few bullet points on their scouting report. Foes need to first account for the all-around threat of Alpha Diallo, but the one sure-fire offensive threat lies elsewhere.

Opponents need to pay extra attention toward stopping Nate Watson these days, and with good reason. The 6-foot-10, 250-pound sophomore big man may be the most dominant low-post scorer in the conference.
