An early season trip to Ohio State, the usual showdown with the University of Rhode Island and two games in the Emerald Coast Classic highlight Providence College's non-conference basketball schedule for the 2016-17 season.
The Friars will play nine home games, road games at Ohio State and Boston College and two neutral court games. The Friars, who finished 24-11 last season and played in a third straight NCAA Tournament, will open Nov. 14 at home against Vermont and then play for the first time ever at Ohio State in the second annual Gavitt Tipoff Games.
