PROVIDENCE – For the second straight day and third time this off-season, Ed Cooley is hitting the transfer wire to pump up his roster.
Jared Bynum, a Washington, D.C. native who spent his freshman season at Saint Joseph’s, committed to Cooley and the Friars Wednesday. He will sit out next season and then have three years of eligibility remaining. Bynum, who stands a shade under 5-10, averaged 11.3 points and 41 percent shooting, dished for 4.5 assists and recorded 1.3 steals per game for the Hawks.
Bynum was hearing from the likes of Clemson, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Providence, Butler and Seton Hall after announcing he was leaving the Atlantic 10.
