PROVIDENCE – If ever there was a game where the final score doesn’t tell the entire story it was Providence College’s win over Merrimack Tuesday night at the Dunk.
Merrimack, one of the surprises of the early-season in college basketball, jumped all over a Friar team that couldn’t make a shot and watched the Warriors carve up the defense on the way to a 12-point first half lead.
But that was it for the visitors. The addition of Nate Watson, a sharp spark from Luwane Pipkins and a switch to zone defense and some trapping pressure turned the game around.
