NEW YORK – Now that was eye-opening.
No one at Friday night’s 2K Classic championship game could be surprised that Providence College would emerge as a winner but only the most ardent Friar fan could’ve predicted what unfolded at Madison Square Garden.
The Friars (3-1) took the opening five minutes to find their groove and then danced all over the Billikens of Saint Louis in a 90-63 blowout victory.
PC shot a sizzling 60 percent in the first half on the way to a commanding 41-21 halftime lead and cruised in the second half.
Rodney Bullock led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points.
