PC 83, St. John's 65: Dunn, Friars ride out the Storm

PROVIDENCE – If anyone in the sellout crowd Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center needed a reintroduction to the rough-and-tumble Big East, they certainly got one.

The 12th ranked Providence Friars won their eighth straight game with a 83-65 victory over St. John’s. The Friars were in complete control for the final 25 minutes but the physical Red Storm drew out the toughness of the Friars in a foul-filled, free throw shooting exhibition.

PC led 43-31 at the half and by 18 points with early in the second half.
