PROVIDENCE – It was far from a full cleansing but the Providence College Friars were very happy to return to the winning column Saturday night at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
The Friars pushed Stony Brook against the ropes several times but could never shake the pesky, aggressive Seawolves on the way to a 82-78 victory. The win moves PC to 6-5 in its first game since losing to Rhode Island eight days ago.
David Duke and Luwane Pipkins led the Friars with 21 points apiece. Alpha Diallo added 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Elijah Olaniyi led the Seawolves (7-5) with 25 points.
