ANAHEIM, Cal. – So the Providence College Friars can close.
After letting double-digit leads slip away in the first two games of the Wooden Legacy, the Friars closed out Pepperdine in the tourney’s seventh place game, 80-77.
Providence, now 5-4, leaves California with some much-needed confidence after losing to Long Beach State and the College of Charleston. Nate Watson and A.J. Reeves led the Friars with 15 points apiece. Alpha Diallo added 13 points and 9 rebounds and David Duke came up with some clutch plays on both sides of the ball in the final seconds.
Colbey Ross led Pepperdine with 29 points.
