NEW YORK – The Garden magic is back.
We’ll see how long it lasts but the Providence College Friars caught fire like they’ve rarely experienced this season and rolled to a 80-57 first round Big East Tournament win over Butler Wednesday night.
Down by 10 points after an ugly opening 10 minutes, the Friars reversed course and blew past the Bulldogs for the second time in five days and third time this season. PC shot 55 percent for the game and 60 percent in a scintillating second half.
PC’s season continues with a marquee matchup against top-seeded Villanova at Noon Thursday.
