PROVIDENCE – After flashing a revved-up offense in the season debut, the Providence College Friars lowered the defensive hammer in round two.
PC’s shooting eye was a bit blurry but the team’s size and quickness advantage overwhelmed the Highlanders of the New Jersey Institute Saturday afternoon, 76-47. NJIT never found its offensive flow and racked up 23 turnovers and made just 32 percent of its shots.
David Duke scored a career-high 21 points and dished for five assists. Alpha Diallo racked up a second straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Maliek White added 11 points.
