PC 76 Georgetown 70: Friars break out of slump with hard-earned win

PROVIDENCE - The Providence Friars snapped their losing streak Wednesday night in good, old fashioned Big East style.

The Friars and Georgetown Hoyas hooked up in a physical, often-times ugly contest but in the end Ed Cooley wasn't complaining with a 76-70 victory. PC knocks off the Hoyas for the fifth straight game.

Providence improves to 11-5 overall and grabbed the all-important first Big East victory (1-2) with nationally ranked Creighton coming to town Saturday. Georgetown falls to 8-7 and 0-3 in the Big East.

The Friars had four double digit scorers with Jalen Lindsey leading the way with 19 points.
