INDIANAPOLIS – A season filled with frustration met with a night of joy Tuesday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
After blowing a lead in regulation, the Providence College Friars flashed oodles of toughness in overtime and pulled out a 73-67 victory over Butler. Isaiah Jackson’s two 3-pointers in the final two minutes of overtime proved to be the biggest of a host of large plays for the Friars.
Providence improves to 16-13 and 6-10 in the Big East. Nate Watson led PC with 21 points, while Jackson and Alpha Diallo added 14 apiece.
The loss is a damaging one for Butler, which falls to 15-13 and 6-9 in the conference.
