PROVIDENCE – At last.
In a game they absolutely had to grab, the Providence College Friars slammed the door in a strong second half and beat Seton Hall Tuesday night, 72-63.
PC, now 1-3 in the Big East, was led by David Duke’s 18 points and 15 points and 8 rebounds from Alpha Diallo.
The Friars limited the Pirates’ Myles Powell to 12 points and as many field goals (4) as turnovers. The Hall drops to 12-6 overall and 3-3 in the ultra-competitive Big East.
The Friars needed a strong start to energize the home fans and juice the team’s confidence but that wasn’t to be.
