PROVIDENCE — The Providence College women’s basketball team enjoyed its return to the postseason so much, it decided to stick around and keep playing.
Triumphant doesn’t begin to explain the Friars’ return. Thursday night they were a bully in the schoolyard, toying with Hartford for a little bit until stepping on the Hawks’ throats in the second half.
Jovana Nogic couldn’t miss if she tried. Mary Baskerville was a monster underneath. When the offense struggled, the defense found a way to get it done and Providence cleaned up on the glass.
