PROVIDENCE – Finally.
For the first time this season against an upper-level opponent, the Providence Friars stood up and put it all together in what was a convincing 70-48 victory over the Texas Longhorns. PC raced to a 43-28 halftime lead and never looked back to send a big crowd at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center home happy.
The Friars were coming off an awful offensive performance in a 32-point loss to the Florida Gators but an entirely different team bounded off the bus in this one. PC (7-6) hit shots from all corners, up and down the lineup in the last non-Big East game of the season.
