PROVIDENCE – What a game, what a finish.
After fighting off waves of great plays from the Belmont Bruins, Providence College’s Kyron Cartwright owned the last answer.
Cartwright drained a running 3-pointer from the top of the key at the buzzer to give the Friars a stirring 66-65 win over Belmont at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Wednesday night. Belmont had just pulled ahead on a layup by Dylan Windler with just four seconds left.
After Windler’s hoop, PC coach Ed Cooley quickly waved for a timeout. Cartwright shrugged it off and nailed the winning shot.
