PROVIDENCE – No one can say with any certainty if the Providence Friars have done enough to merit an NCAA Tournament berth but they’re certainly getting very close.
The Friars shook off some bad stretches of offensive basketball to spurt in the second half and then hold on for a 61-57 win over St. John’s on Saturday at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
The Senior Day crowd saw Rodney Bullock (13 points), Kyron Cartwright (10 points) and Jalen Lindsey for what they hope is the final time. Alpha Diallo added 13 points and Nate Watson supplied a big nine second half points.
