ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Providence College goalie Hayden Hawkey made a career-high 36 saves while Brian Pinho and Ryan Tait each recorded three points to lead the Friars past Rochester Institute of Technology, 5-1, on Friday night.
Hawkey made 22 of his 36 saves in the second period. Tait had a pair of goals and an assist while Pinho tacked on a goal and two assists.
Pinho's fifth goal of the season, at 6:50 of the first period, gave Providence a 1-0 lead. Pinho stuffed in a rebound of a Josh Wilkins shot. Tait also had an assist.
