PC 5, Dartmouth 3: Friars win tourney title with second-period outburst

HANOVER, N.H. — Tournament MVP Scott Conway scored twice during a four-goal second period as the Providence College men’s hockey team won the Ledyard Classic with a 5-3 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday night at Thompson Arena.

Trailing 2-1 after the first period, Providence (11-4-3) scored four times in just 3:46 to take a commanding 5-2 lead. Ryan Tait started the outburst with a shorthanded goal — his first of the season — at 4:04 off assists from John McDermott and Spenser Young.

Conway scored his first of the game just nine seconds later to give Providence a 3-2 lead.
