PROVIDENCE — Brandon Duhaime scored 1:31 into overtime lifting Providence College to a 5-4 win over Boston College in the first game of their Hockey East quarterfinal series at Schneider Arena on Friday night.
Duhaime had most of the net to shoot at after BC goalie Joe Woll (34 saves) kicked out the rebound of Tyce Thompson’s shot. Mike Callahan was credited with the second assist.
“Got to go to the net in the playoffs. That’s where playoff goals are scored,″ said PC coach Nate Leaman.
Duhaime’s tally ended a back-and-forth contest. PC took an early lead, then gave up three quick goals to BC.
