PROVIDENCE – Erik Foley's third goal of the game with 6:56 left lifted 11th-ranked Providence College to its ninth straight win, 4-3, over Connecticut at Schneider Arena on Friday night.
UConn senior goalie Rob Nichols put on a dazzling 48-save performance in the loss.
In addition to his hat trick, PC's Foley assisted on Brian Pinho's second-period goal. Pinho finished with a goal and two assists.
Brian Morgan scored twice and Tage Thompson had two assists for UConn (10-12-8 oveall, 6-8-4 in Hockey East), which was missing three players with the flu.
