PC 4, Maine 2: Ellis stops 30 shots, Pinho scores game-winner for Friars
ORONO, Maine -- Nick Ellis made 30 saves and Erik Foley, Kevin Rooney, Brian Pinho and Trevor Mingoia scored goals as Providence College defeated Maine, 4-2, at Alfond Arena on Saturday night.
With the win, the sixth-ranked Friars improved to 19-5-4 overall, 10-3-3 in Hockey East. PC is alone in fourth place in Hockey East with 23 points, one point behind UMass-Lowell and Notre Dame. Maine is 7-17-6, 4-1-2.
Freshman winger Foley opened the scoring with a power play goal at 2:57 of the first period, assisted by Tom Parisi.
