DURHAM, N.H. — The Providence College hockey team rallied from a one-goal deficit to top New Hampshire, 3-1, in a Hockey East game on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center.
The 10th-ranked Friars got goals from Vincent Desharnais, Jay O’Brien and Spenser Young — all in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Both teams battled through a defensive first period in which the Friars outshot the Wildcats, 6-3.
New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Ara Nazarian in the second period, after the Friars failed to clear the zone on the penalty kill.
