ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Scott Conway and Erik Foley scored in the first 7:24 of the game and Providence College went on to a 3-1 win over the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday night. The win gave the Friars a sweep of their two-game series at RIT after a 5-1 decision on Friday night.
Hayden Hawkey stopped 29 shots for the Friars, who improved their record to 7-6-3 overall and 1-4-2 in Hockey East. RIT is 8-9-1 overall and 8-5 in Atlantic Hockey.
Conway opened the scoring at 4:52 of the first period, with assists to Kasper Bjorkqvist and Brandon Duhaime.
