BOSTON – The game didn’t start until 9:18 p.m. and didn’t finish until 12:27 a.m., but it was worth the wait for Providence College.
Brandon Duhaime scored at 9:55 of overtime to lift the Friars to a 3-2 victory over Northeastern in the second game of the Hockey East semifinals at TD Garden on Friday night.
PC (23-10-4) will play Boston University -- 4-3 OT winners over Boston College -- in the championship game at 7 on Saturday night.
“We found a way to get it to overtime and I thought we played our best hockey in overtime,″ said PC coach Nate Leaman.
