PC 3, Maine 2: Late goal by Walman delivers 6th straight win for Friars

PROVIDENCE - Jake Walman's power-play goal with 1:53 to play capped a third period rally as the 15th-ranked Providence College men's hockey team beat Maine, 3-2, on Friday night at Schneider Arena.

With the win, the Friars (15-8-3 overall, 7-6-2 in Hockey East) extended their winning streak to six games. Hayden Hawkey stopped 29 shots for the Friars.

Erik Foley gave the Friars a 1-0 lead at 17:02 of the second period, assisted by Josh Monk.

The Black Bears (10-14-3, 4-10-1) grabbed the lead with two goals within 59 seconds early in the third period. Patrick Holway scored a power play goal at 2:18 and Chase Pearson scored at 3:17.
